About Me

Hi, I’m Rachele Macera! I’m 32 years old and live in West Branch, Michigan with my incredible husband, Austin, and our three wild and wonderful kids—Lorraine, Barrett, and Porter. Austin has been by my side for nine years and has truly been my rock through every twist and turn of motherhood and business ownership. We’re building this life together, one chaotic, love-filled day at a time.

Since I was a child, I knew I wanted to help people. Counseling has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until the birth of my daughter in the fall of 2020 that I found my true calling in birth work. I had always dreamed of becoming a mom, but when it finally happened, I felt so unprepared. I was overwhelmed, under-supported, and confused why no one had warned me about the emotional and physical toll of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Social media made it seem like everyone else was thriving while I was just trying to survive.

It took a supportive partner, an amazing counselor, and time to realize—I wasn’t alone. I wasn’t failing. I was simply experiencing the parts of motherhood no one talks about enough. That realization changed everything for me.

I created Safe Haven because I believe every parent deserves a village. We’re not meant to do this alone. Safe Haven was born from a dream to build a community where families feel supported, informed, and safe. A space where they can show up exactly as they are. A space where real conversations happen, where healing begins, and where support flows freely—from pregnancy to postpartum and beyond.

My vision for Safe Haven has always been bigger than just one-on-one care. I wanted to grow something that could hold families in every season—offering classes, connection, compassionate support, and space to just be. This work is my heart. Whether it’s a prenatal visit, a birth I attend, a postpartum check-in, or a simple chat over coffee at our center—I’m here to walk beside you.

As a doula, childbirth educator, and lactation specialist, I offer non-judgmental, non-prescriptive, evidence-based care for all birth choices and all birthing people. My goal is to empower you, to help you feel seen, supported, and strong throughout your journey. Because with the right support, you won’t just survive this season—you’ll thrive in it.

Welcome to the village. You belong here.
